Fire Safety Services in Abu Dhabi
Reviewed by the Louis Fire & Safety engineering team Published 29 April 2025 · Updated 22 July 2026

Every occupied building in Abu Dhabi needs its fire protection systems installed to NFPA standards, signed off by Civil Defence, and then tested on a schedule for as long as the building is in use. Louis Fire & Safety does all three — we hold an A+ grade from Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, the highest contractor grade issued, and we are ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certified.
This page is an overview of what we install and maintain. Each system links through to a page with the detail.
Fire fighting systems
Water-based systems are the backbone of most buildings' protection, and they only work if the pressure is there on the day. We design, install, test and commission:
- Fire pumps — electric, diesel, jockey and booster sets, including pump room design and flow testing
- Sprinkler systems for residential, commercial and industrial occupancies
- Fire hydrant systems and hose reels
- Dry and wet risers for high-rise buildings
- Deluge systems and foam systems for high-hazard areas
Detection and alarm
Abu Dhabi requires alarm and detection in every occupied building, commissioned and certified before handover. We supply both addressable and conventional panels, sized to the building rather than to a catalogue.
- Fire alarm systems — design, installation, testing and commissioning
- Aspirating smoke detection (VESDA) for data centres, clean rooms and high-ceiling spaces
- Public address and voice evacuation, so occupants get instructions rather than just a bell
- Emergency and exit lighting with central battery monitoring
Suppression
Where water would do as much damage as the fire — server rooms, switchgear, commercial kitchens — we install clean agent and kitchen hood suppression: FM-200, Inergen, CO₂ and wet chemical systems. Enclosure integrity testing is part of commissioning, because a clean agent system only holds concentration if the room is sealed.
We also supply, install and refill fire extinguishers — ABC dry powder, CO₂, foam and wet chemical — and keep them in date under the same maintenance contract as everything else.
Water mist
Water mist systems suppress fire using a fraction of the water a sprinkler needs, which makes them a practical retrofit for heritage buildings, machinery spaces and areas where storage tank capacity is limited.
Annual maintenance contracts
Installation is the shorter half of the job. Civil Defence expects fire protection systems to be inspected and tested on a defined schedule, with records to show for it, and a system that fails an inspection can hold up an occupancy certificate.
Our annual maintenance contracts cover planned preventive maintenance across every system in the building — one contract, one accountable contractor, and inspection reports and compliance documentation issued after each visit. Where a system fails between visits, we respond on a 24/7 basis.
Working with us
We have worked across Abu Dhabi since 2001, for ADNOC, Emirates Steel, Abu Dhabi Ports, SEHA, Marriott and others — high-rise residential, industrial plant, ports, hospitals, hotels and government facilities. Being a single contractor for design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance means there is no gap between who installed a system and who is answerable for it later.
If you are scoping a new build, taking over a building with systems of unknown condition, or your current AMC is up for renewal, get in touch and we will come and look at it.
